How To Get A Cheap Tempurpedic Mattress

Tempurpedic Mattresses are considered the top of the line memory foam mattresses anywhere. Unfortunately, the prices of tempurpedic mattress aren’t considered cheap and many people can’t afford a tempurpedic mattress

It used to be each distributor and dealer of tempurpedic products set their own retail price and if you shopped around hard enough, you may find one that sells relatively cheap or at a discount.

However recently, Tempur-Pedic decided to change its policy. All tempurpedic mattress will be sold at the same retail prices so now it is really pointless to search around for the cheapest tempurpedic mattress.

The reason for this is that Tempur-Pedic wants to assure their customers that no matter where you get their products, it is always the same price and quality. That means no extra benefits added by the dealers such as free shipping, extra pillow, extra tempurpedic mattress topper etc to entice customers to buy. The same rules applies for all dealers.

However, I found sometimes you can get a good deal if you deal with the dealer directly. By directly, I mean going down to their retail store and negotiate with them. Sometimes they may give you a better price, sometimes not. If not, move on to other retail stores that carry tempurpedic mattresses.

Don’t bother trying to call them or visit their web site since they would probably quote you the official prices for it. So the best way is to negotiate with the dealer directly.

The other way to get a cheap tempurpedic mattress is to go on ebay. There are a lot of sellers that sells cheap tempurpedic mattresses on ebay. However, there have been cases where the tempurpedic mattress brought were not of high quality and even worse not tempurpedic at all.

Do your due diligence and check out the seller, check their feedback and see what their previous customers have to say. You can email or phone the seller to make sure they are not selling fake tempurpedic mattresses.

The other alternative to buy other memory foam mattresses instead. Though I still prefer tempurpedic mattress, there are some people who cannot afford the prices.

Now, there are about a dozen different types of memory foam mattress sold, probably a lot more than I can count. So how do I get it that is cheap and comparable to tempurpedic mattress?

The only way to know is to test and that means paying a visit to your local retail store and trying it out first before buying. The most important thing is you feel comfortable and make sure there is a free trial or a back money guarantee so that you can always return it if you feel the memory foam mattress does not suit you.

Where can I find a tempurpedic/memory foam style mattress at a reasonable price?
Most mattresses by tempurpedic are in the $3K range for a queen size. Is there anybody who sells them cheaper or a similar style for less money? Anybody have any experience with these, are they worth it?

As far as I can find, they are all very expensive. I can't believe they're worth that much. I'd have to sleep an awful lot to get my money's worth.

I recently bought just a 3 inch memory foam pad for on top of my original mattress and just bought deeper sheets and I love it. They do make a 4 inch thick memory foam pad also. I got mine from overstock.com. (I did some searching of the web but was taking too long so I stopped. lol ) You might try searching the web.
    Good luck

Buying a momery foam mattress that is not Tempurpedic would be a big mistake. Wait till you have the $$$, or finance it. They are getting more economic. Starting at the Original Bed at$1499.00 for Queen Set(with box/platform), $1199, for mattress only. The Classic is $1899 set, $1599 mattress only. The mattress can sit on any solid completely flat surface by itslef without the box. Box is only necessary to sit in standard frame.

There are other high quality memory foam mattresses out there, nothing that really feels like a Tempurpedic though.

Plus, it’s difficult to grade the quality. Do a lot of research and see what everyone else says.

Tempurpedics will break in a little bit, but for the most part they don’t collapse more than a 1/2″ unlike most other varieties of mattresses. If you love the feel, i would negotiate for a floor model. You can usually get a good break for them, or if you’re lucky when a company is changing models. (tempur has perennially line-ups usually though)

This year several major brands have gotten better in the body impressions category however. So if you’re looking for a less expensive bed, I suggest the Simmons Beautyrest classic, skip world class, and go to NXG / Monarch / Natural care. BUT be careful! Many distributors still sell Beautyrest black series and some thicker world-class beds that have had bad body impression problems and are expensive too.

My suggestion is to look at each “line” of the more popular brands, and research what reviews say about them before buying. If there is mention of body impressions being a big problem, don’t go there.

Most salesman will level with you too if you ask which beds don’t develop as bad of body impressions and are the most durable, but some just try and sell the most expensive thing.

After $1000, you don’t always get what you pay for in the mattress industry.

Stay away from thick pillow tops, unless they use the new box top design, with no fluff foam inside (just latex / memory foam) but again research it.

Unfortunately some of the best mattresses are made specifically for top retailers. So there is little reviews about them. For example we’re the select carriers of Simmons Monarch mattresses, which are great.

Good luck with your mattress research!

There are many high quality memory foam mattresses that are just as comfortable as a Tempurpedic. I guess it’s based on preference though.

We carry tempur and some other high quality memory foam beds. The biggest difference is that most other memory foam beds are fast-reactive memory foam that isn’t as temperature sensitive.
